Acer platanoides ‘Eurostar’®
‘Eurostar’® is a unique tree from the Norwegian Maple family and PBR protected.
It is one of the best in it’s variety
Eurostar® is a variety that, in comparison to other varieties of Acer platanoides, has a straight leader all the way up. The crown structure is regular, the main branches are relatively thin and this variety has no heavy branches or double leaders. Since Eurostar ® grows this way, its maintenance compared to other varieties is limited which lowers the costs for the customer. Another advantage of the variet) is that the trees start growing late so there is no risk of frost damage.
This variety is also resistant to diseases such as mildew. The foliage is bright green in spring and summer and yellow in autumn. The Acer platanoides species is also resistant to drought, pollution and road salt. All these features of Eurostar ® make the relatively narrow tree well suited for use along streets and avenues.
Acer platanoides Eurostar® is PBR protected. Up to a size of 12-14 cm it is not allowed to be reproduced or cultivated, and may therefore not be sold. The cultivation and trade of these trees is only allowed by Adriaan van de Bijl boomkwekerijen BV, Opheusden Holland. No other grower or trader in Europe is allowed to grow or propagate trees of this variety.
The Acer platanoides ‘Eurostar’® is and remains protected by PBR.
